Truly a magical experience and could not recommend their services enough! This is a hidden gem of an experience if you are in the Lake George area!
I came across Leaf Air’s website while researching for potential proposal ideas. Melodie and Jim really went above and beyond making sure we had a great experience. They answered all our questions thoroughly beforehand, and discussed the appropriate tickets/packages that best suited what we wanted out of our experience. We picked the Winter Package and flew in January which was an amazing time to see Lake George and the Adirondacks from an aerial view. Since I wanted a romantic date and a proposal, Melodie was very proactive about coordinating with me to make sure my proposal went without any issues.
During the flight, Jim made sure that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. It is very apparent that he is a very experienced pilot and made us feel at ease throughout the entire trip. I have never been in a small plane before and uneasy with heights but he made me feel very safe. They are both super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area!

I am a student pilot and have been taking fluing lessons and instruction from Leaf Air flight instructors. This is absolutely a first class, five star business. Their attention to details and priority of safety makes learning a joy and worry free. Their planes are maintained beautifully and their dedication of making sure that every part of their planes are in perfect working order, gives every pilot and customer the knowledge that safety is always assured. I have flown many hours with Jim Barrett as my instructor. His knowledge and experience are second to none. His hands-on method of teaching, along with his calm demeanor, allows a student to learn at their own speed while still feeling comfortable and encouraged in the learning process. He anticipates student mistakes and corrects them in a very positive and safe manner before any trouble occurs. Flying with Leaf Air has been a truly wonderful experience. I highly recommend taking a scenic flight with them even if you are not interested in becoming a pilot. However, after taking a flight with Leaf Air, you may well want to learn for yourself. I cannot recommend any organization more highly than Leaf Air.

What an amazing experience this was! Jim was very professional, friendly and made us feel very comfortable with the whole flight. He even took the time for us to find our house from the air and took us on the route we requested. We booked an airplane tour with Leaf Air this past weekend, and it ended up being part of one of the most memorable days of our lives—we got engaged that day! Jim, our pilot, was incredible. He has a calm, reassuring presence and clearly knows his craft inside and out. We felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time, which allowed us to really enjoy the experience.

I took a plane ride with my family to see the fall colors over the mountains in New York, and it was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had. The pilot was super nice and knowledgeable and explained what we were seeing along the way / answered all of our questions. He took us through Lake George and the high mountain peaks. Seeing the mountains in full fall bloom is unreal. It feels like a movie, looks like a painting. Last thing I want to mention.. and I cannot say this enough, this was the smoothest plane ride I have ever been on. We were floating through the Adirondack’s. If you ever get the chance to do this, do it!

What an amazing experience. We flew with Jim up to Ticonderoga on an incredibly clear day. Along the way, he pointed out famous historical landmarks and explained the basics of the aircraft. A true gentleman and wonderful pilot. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

We flew with Jim on a picture-perfect September day in upstate New York. On a one-hour ride, we passed over Lake George, Fort Ticonderoga, the southern tip of Lake Champlain, a good portion of the southern Adirondacks, and the headwaters of the Hudson River. The view from the air gave us a whole new appreciation for the lush expanses that passed underneath. From 2,000 feet , it’s easy to see why Lake George is dubbed “The Queen of American Lakes.”
The plane we flow in was a Cessna 182, which was roomy in the front and back with plenty of space for the pilot plus three people. It also featured a smooth ride, probably in part because of the retractable landing gear. Truly a beautiful flying machine.
In addition to being a really nice guy, Jim’s skill with the aircraft was evident, as the ride was superb. He also pointed out all of the major sights along the way and answered all of our questions about points of interest and the aircraft itself. And the landing couldn’t have been smoother. A true professional!
I would highly recommend this adventure for anyone who appreciates private aviation or who wants to take in the amazing scenery of the Lake George area from a different perspective. It’s worth it!

My husband and I are celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and knew we wanted to do something new and out of our comfort zone…so we went on the airplane tour. We were nervous because we did not know what to expect, but also excited. The experience was amazing!! So much better than expected. The ride was smooth, the weather was perfect and our pilot Jim was the best we could have had for our first flight! My husband will be reminiscing on this adventure for years because he loves the wonder of flying. Jim reviewed landmarks and gave us some historical facts and folk tales about the lake George area and beyond. After this experience, I feel like I can do almost anything! Haha.
