Frequently Asked Questions

Will the instrument rating make me a better pilot?

Studies have shown that instrument rated pilots have greater situational awareness especially of weather and safety margins even when flying VFR. It requires smoother control inputs and through preflight and inflight planning.

Is actual flying in instrument conditions required?

No, the FAA only specifies simulated instrument time but as you gain experience, we will incorporate some actual IMC when safe to do so, which is invaluable experience.

Where do you fly out of?

Leaf Air operates out of Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport, located at 443 Queensbury Ave in Queensbury, NY. The airport is conveniently located in the heart of the Adirondack region, providing easy access to stunning aerial views of Lake George, the Adirondack Mountains, and the surrounding area.
